Booking Holidays, Online vs Travel Agent?

Having holidays today is much simpler than in the past. There are now more ways to organize our desired holidays. In the past, we used to have only travel agents to take care of our holidays; to find excellent places to visit, then to deal with the flights, the hotels, the car rentals, the spots to visit, and the activities to have in the place.
People could merely see and compare the pictures on brochures of travel agents to get a fantastic travel deal; they relied really on brochures or newspapers to find out excellent places for holidays; thus choices of place were limited to the advertisements. Furthermore, we usually had to wait for the school holidays to get travel discount from the travel agents that we had to pay more expensive for other days.
But all this scenario changed drastically with the coming up of the internet. Today we can search and book flights, hotels and car rentals by ourselves within no time just with a single mouse click. The options of places are also becoming more various by the reviews of visitors in internet. We can read the visitors’ reviews about hotels before booking and can see what they had during their holidays in a particular hotel. There are also thousands of e-books and audio books for us to be explored.
But, booking holidays online has weaknesses as well. Reviews from visitors are very subjective that the experiences of people vary from person to person and according to their taste. In addition, pictures of places provided in internet may differ from the real place as they are not always actual.
Finally, travel agent is excellent still, but if you have time to organize fantastic holiday in cheaper price and simple way, booking holiday online is the answer.
